About the Librarian
My name is Mrs. Parker and I am so excited to be your student's librarian this year! This school year is going to be filled with engaging lessons, opportunities to fall in love with reading, building our school community, using technology, and much more!
In 2011, I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education where I was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society. I graduated in 2019 with my Master's in Library Media Education. This is my thirteenth year with Yukon Public Schools. I was named Yukon Public School's District Teacher of the Year in 2023. I have been married to my husband for twelve years. We had our first daughter, Paige, in July of 2018. We also have a cat at home named Jack!
Reading is my favorite thing to do! I love all types of books but my favorite is fantasy. One of my biggest goals for this school year is to help your child find a love for reading. I am looking forward to this new school year with you and your student!
About the Assistant Librarian
Hi friends!
My name is Laura Stidham and this is my third year as the Library Media Aide.
I have spent many years within the school system as a Helping Hand Volunteer and also serving as a PTA Member. I've also been the Homeroom Mom/Assistant for many years as well.
I've been married to my sweet husband, Michael, for almost 16 years. We have two children, Brenton and Brentley. Our son, Brenton, is beginning this 2024 year as a Junior and our daughter, Brentley, is starting seventh grade. They keep me pretty busy, but not as busy as our pets do. We have two dogs, 3 cats, and a backyard full of wildlife that I love to spoil and dote on. The squirrels get the most attention as they love to stick around and have breakfast while I drink coffee in the mornings.
I enjoy making memories with my family, playing games (board games and online games), swimming, being a plant Mom, and reading, of course! My favorite genre is Young Adult Fiction and Fantasy, but I am also a sucker for a great book series and anything horror that I stumble across.
I can't wait to meet all of you and learn about the things you love and enjoy doing as well as all the great things you will teach me along the way. I look forward to a fun school year and getting to know each of you!
